The SJR Concert  Band was formed fully in 2009 and has grown from 6 players to over 30 different instrumentalists and singers. Each year the band changes depending on the students in College and the band plays a range of music from funk to pop, musical theatre to jazz, swing to classical... the band engages in the music that is needed for the occasion.

The SJR Concert Band are provide the backing music for the College productions, form the major part of the orchestra for the annual CAFOD Carol Concert and are also asked to provide music in the community for productions (e.g. Wigan Little Theatre, Byrchall High School) or for care homes at Christmas time to spread a little festive cheer.
